At the sight of the crowds, his heart was moved with pity for them because they were troubled and abandoned, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so beg the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest.” Matthew 9:36-38
Jesus asked us to pray for one thing in particular, “laborers for his harvest,” and it is in response to this request that we are excited to announce the Ohio Statewide Day of Adoration for Vocations on Wednesday, November 7, 2018. We are in the midst of securing host sites for this year’s day of prayer. Please check back soon to get the updated list of locations.
Here is the complete list of host parishes from 2017. Archbishop Dennis Schnurr will be presiding over a holy hour at the Cathedral of St. Peter in Chains from 9:30-10:30AM that day and all are welcome to come join in as we pray across the state all day long!

All host sites have already received the model we recommend for prayer during your holy hour, however if you prefer another format, you may also want to follow this Holy Hour for Vocations or this Serran Holy Hour for Vocations. We encourage communities to adapt one of these or another holy hour format to fit the needs of their particular community.
Here are some components you may want to include in your Holy Hour
- Litany for Vocations
- Intercessions for Vocations
- Prayers for Vocations
- Archdiocesan Prayer for Vocations
- Order Holy Hour Guides, Vocation Prayer Cards, etc.
