At the sight of the crowds, his heart was moved with pity for them because they were troubled and abandoned, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so beg the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest.” Matthew 9:36-38
Jesus asked us to pray for one thing in particular, “laborers for his harvest,” and it is in response to this request that we are excited to announce the Ohio statewide Holy Hour for Vocations on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 from 7:00-8:00 pm. At least 40 parishes from all over the state of Ohio, with at least one parish in each deanery of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, have agreed to open their doors to all who want to join in simultaneous prayer for vocations.
Here is a map of all the parishes across the state of Ohio who are participating in praying for vocations! Click the map for more details and to search for a parish near you!
We welcome all parishes to become host parishes for this grace-filled evening! If you would like your parish to become a host parish, please contact us at 513-421-3131 x.2891.
We have mailed to each of the host parishes, the model we recommend for prayer during this hour or you may also want to follow this model. We encourage pastors to adapt one of these or another holy hour format to fit the needs of his particular parish/school.
